I see a lot of Scotty Cameron Putters with the same model name, Newport for example, but with different numbers at the end.
I've had a bit of a google but can't find what these different designations mean.

Can anyone tell me or link me to a site giving a comprehensive guide to SC's ?

I think it's only the neck design that differs dependent on your stroke type.

1 and 2 are different head designs, 1 usually having softer lines, the 2 more angular. .5 means a flow neck rather than a plumber's neck.

A pal who's son is on a mini pro tour, not sure what it is, had four putters for sale which he asked me to flog through the pit. They were all 2nd hand excellent condition. There was a Scotty cameron Newport for sale for £45. I had always fancied one and tried it out for an hour. It did not blow me away.

however a Taylormade Rossa? For £30 was gorgeous.

in the end I stuck with my odyssey two ball. I was not looking for a putter myself so thought sod it.

the ice putter I could not give away.
