I would hope many will answer the call. My concern is many GMC or NMC registrations will have lapsed by now. How are they going to be renewed or are they going to be allowed to practice un-registered?[/QUOTE

Missis T had had a letter asking to return it was mentioned online training re updates.
She is not going back we will have 2 sproggs to look after full time when we get back with daughter being a Bobby.
Re the question, it's a good un but the age should be 55ish upwards. The NHS changed the pension rules which meant a lot of nurse could retire semi retire at that age, not now. A fair few went because of how the NHS was heading. For that reason a fair few may not return. ?☹

Don’t think my wife will be asked as she is still on the NMC register - that seems to be whether or not you are asked - even if she does get asked she’s working supporting the NHS

I can't help feeling that the reality is that if you felt you could make a real difference most would/will.

The same goes for non medical.

I've seen some excellent examples of people putting themselves, or their resources, forwards this last week (largest local taxi firm is owned by one guy, who I know isn't rich, but has always been generous with his time and efforts - within an hour of the first supermarket offering the first hour to vulnerable groups he went public with an offer of free collection and return for those people within the catchment area) and I expect that will continue, and grow.

But for most it simply isn't real yet, it represents the unknown (so is feared to a degree) but it's not quantifiable enough to be worth any perceived risk/cost/ and for some, any inconvenience.
