Article attached. Aegon make no reference to Elliot's cheating ban and say it is down a review and cost cutting measures.

Have things got so bad within 12 months after they signed the last deal or is it an ideal time to get rid of? This year with two brothers on the full tour it would have been their best year for exposure

In an adverse way I think Elliot is now in the strongest position to gain new sponsorship.

Companies look at maximum exposure, not the person. I can guarentee that there will be thousands of eyes on Elliot every week now which means thousands of eyes on his shirt sleeve, his cap, his bag whatever.

Not always the case look how Gatorade dropped Tiger - although they denied it was because of his problems - too much of a coincidence in timing for me.

Except that the attention has negative associations. Any serious brand that wants to attract an association with cheating needs it's head examined. Don't believe the cliche - there is such a thing as bad publicity.

im suprised a few ppl havent banded together & tried to sponsor them for a long sponsored walk off a non sponsored short pier

Too much coincidence in the timing and if I were the other sibling Saltmans I'd be more than a little peeved with my brother. None of them are raking fortunes in and I guess any sponsorship is a godsend to them so a loss like this must impact their playing schedules and plans
