Just heard that this 18 year old shot 58 12 under par to win by 5 on the Japanese tour, some shooting that.
Had my reservations about how good he is and stated that on here before but can't argue with that now.

Outstanding performance for one so young. He was actually 6 behind the leader at the start of the day, and won it by 5 shots in the end. He shot 9 birdies in the first 11 holes and 3 more in the last 7. He also put himself in position with 5 eagle putts during the round, imagine the score if any of those had dropped....

The 16th hole is a 356 yd blind dog leg par 4 over tall trees . Ryo kun had always tried to drive over the trees to make the green in one during previous visits here. He did it last year for the first time. As a result, the course redesigned the hole putting in 7 bunkers to completely surround the green. Did't stop him driving the green again this year though :).

I tipped him on here last year to be a superstar:)

Last night I was watching the Quail Hollow championship on Sky sports, and saw another fantastic achievement with Rorymac playing some equally outstanding golf. Unfortunately for me, the coverage was soured when Mark Roe and Rob Lee decided to start comparing Rory's round with Ryo kun's round, deeming Rory's a better achievement.

I found this really disappointing, both players put in career highlight performances, both are still extremely young (18 and 20), both players carded fantastic scores (58 and 62), whilst recording a monster haul of birdies in the last round (12 and 9). Both came from quite a ways behind to win by 5 shots.

For me, these are two extraordinarliy talented golfers, who both played the most outstanding games of their careers to date, and deserve to have equal praise poured onto them.

Very well done to both of them.
