Here's one that happened the other day.
Our greenkeepers regularly leave an old hole open after they've changed pin position during the winter - why I do not know but they do.
I was just off the green and chipping on. I had one of these holes between me and the pin. I didn't even bring it into consideration and played the shot. The ball landed plum in the "extra" hole without bouncing!.

What the hell do I do now???

As I was prcaticing on my own I just replayed the shot and nearly did it again. But if it had been in a comp?

just claim thats the hole and the flag is in the wrong hole!

Easy.

Surely the hole is a "hole made by a greenkeeper" and therefore ground under repair (see definitions in the rules). So if the ball lands in it, you'd get relief - nearest point & all that sort of stuff and play your next shot from there.

If your ball was on the green then you'd get relief for it being on your line of putt.

Just to back up what "backwoodsman" has written.

In the definitions section of the ROG, GUR is said to include a hole made by the greenkeeper. Further in the definitions "abnormal ground condition" includes GUR. Rule 25-1 describes this and section b(iii) tells you what to do on the putting green.ie. take relief at the nearest point of relief. But don't forget to place it if on the green and even if the NPR is off the green still place it.
