Rule question.......adding a club after you tee off.

Starting with 13 clubs, after teeing off, can you leave the course to add a club to your bag.

Surely there's a story in here.

"A man starts off his Sunday game and whilst on the 1st green his wife runs up to the group and hands him his 3 iron. Is your missus playing golf? one of the boys asks, No, came the reply; she uses it to fend me off in the bedroom."

I'll get my coat..... :D

Yes. Rule 4-4 "The player must not start the stipulated round with more than fourteen clubs. He is limited to the clubs thus selected for that round, except that if he started with fewer than fourteen clubs he may add any number providing his total number does not exceed fourteen.
The addition of a club or clubs must not unduly delay play (Rule 6-7) and the player must not add or borrow any club selected for play by any other person playing on the course."

unless its changed I thought you couldnt leave the course once you started an official round

That would disqualify half the field at our weekly comps. It's common place to go for a whizz or buy a bottle of pop off the pro. I think it might well be a common-sense type of rule if you are correct.

Does moving cows mid-round count! :)
