I'm willing to travel down to this, been on my hit list for a while but this looks like a good opportunity. Anyone north of me interested I'm willing to take them down from here to save their costs

I could be interested in this, depends when payment is due. Going on holiday later this month so if spaces are available after next payday then I'd be up for it. They have a similar one in Feb each year and played in that before, it's a good day out.

Thanks for picking up the baton on this, I've got so many other things on the go at the minute it could have slipped away.

Full handicap allowance, lets hope we all bring our A games and the weathers kind.

I need 24hrs as the amount of golf I've been playing and massive fuel costs coupled with over-nights recently has suddenly been brought to the fore by SWMBO, reserves please state your interest as I'm 50/50 at the moment until I make a nice dinner tonight, hopefully :smirk:

Can't wait til tomorrow lads! Got a few layers of clothing sorted to keep me warm. Just hope my games in shape I'm trying to get there an hour early, not often I get to play a quality course!

Well that's the second time I've played Porthcawl and loved it even more. With the exception of some very wet bunkers (and there has been a lot of rain) the course was in very good condition. The wind was strong throughout and undoubtedly the strongest constant wind I've played in with some pretty big gusts as well - think forum distances and then some with it at your back

As a team we came in with a respectable 69 points with 79 winning and 75 then 74 second and third. Personally I played some pretty good golf for our front (the courses back) 9 but then lost 3 balls on consecutive holes and took a while to recover!

Thanks to Robin for the suggestion and Gordon for organising and both of them and Gareth for their good company on what was a cracking day out and great value to boot. Will happily go back either in February or next November for more of the same.
