First of all I wish them best of luck.

But I'm disappointed by the reference to the 'brown' girl. SWMBO was watching the ITV programme 'Loose women' - one of the panel with an ethnic heritage was jumping with joy that a "brown girl" was going to be part of the Royal family and how this was great for inclusivity.

Its a pity that some will choose to make capital out of this event.

I suspect, like most people, I hadn't given it a thought! I just wonder what the reaction might have been had a white person made the same comment!

I'd heard a correspondent yesterday mention about her being mixed race. The comment jarred with me because I thought we had gone past that. I don't care about her colour, haven't heard anyone mention it other than the press.

The brown girl comment is awful. As you say, if a white panelist had said that they would be out of a job. I hate double standards. People do it to be edgy but I think it is plain wrong, same as many rappers and black comedians using the n word.

I heard Gina Miller (Brexit High Court Case) describe herself as 'A Woman of Colour' in a recent TV interview. What a silly way for her to describe herself.

Same with most minorities in society

When it suits them it is a great thing

Other times it is the great hardship

Milk their minority for all it is worth when it suits them :whoo:
