hi all
thinking of going over to northern ireland in a few weeks to play royal county down, hopefully both courses.anyone played there? and if so what did you think of it?

Without doubt the best track I have been lucky enough to play....simply awesome.

i've played some good links courses on englands golf coast, s&a, hillside and royal birkdale (my number 1 so far)
really looking forward to playing royal county down, which do you think's better, county down or portrush?

Most people think they are on par but Portrush didn't touch Royal County Down in my opinion. For me, County Down is the best course I've ever played and while Portrush was very good, it wasn't in the same league...

RCD - Pure golfing class, hard as nails but rewards good shots and always in excellent nick

I walked along the beach beside it today - and tbh I was glad I was not playing - big winds, sideways rain and freezing - real Norn Iron golf.

Not played either but from what I have heard RCD is better than Portrush - but I am biased as I come from round that area.
