Just caught an US open update on talksport and the reporter bob bubker was saying how disappointed the US press were yesterday after Rory declined to speak to the media post round yesterday

Can appreciate he was frustrated and disappointed but not a wise move IMO.

Perhaps he'd seen the 'train crash' that was Ernies a few weeks ago.

Unlike Tennis, it's not part of the TofCs that players have to give Press interviews.

He's missed the cut so he can do what he likes. I can see how its irritating to have a mike shoved in your face after a bad round but they are seasoned pros and know the ropes. Be polite, keep it short and everyone goes away happy

It was more his defending champion status that caused most irritation, not a written t&c but seems an unwritten requirement stateside.

I'm pretty sure Stephanie wie tweeted that he declined interviews as he was too hungry, came out after getting food and done them.
