Just got back and this has been a superb day so a massive thanks to Mike and GM for making it possible.

The celeb in our team was the Arsenal legend Bob Wilson and what a down to earth chap he is, great company and a true gent. Felt at ease with him straight away having been nervous a bit before hand. e was full of little annecdotes and inside stories about Arsenal all the way round. He is also a lethal putter.

The team all played well with everyone contributing and putting in a respectable score of 84 points with best 2 from 4 on 3/4 handicaps. Nowhere hear a win though with 96 (yes 96) points winning overall. Still we upheld the name of GM.

Thanks must also go to Mike and Al who played some great golf and were top company.

The whole day was top notch. The whole thing was very relaxed with all of the celebs just acting as part of a normal 4 ball. Willie Thorne did a superb auction and, most importantly, Rory signed a shirt for my Tigers Obsessed nephew.

Belton Park was in top nick and provided a superb venue.

The day was that good that, given the chance and funds permitting, I would pay to put my own team in next year.

Thanks again to GM and Mike especially.

Glad you had a good day Greg. Couldn't quite reproduce the Breadsall form then. ;) 96 points would take some beating.

I played OK, as did everyone but 96 points is just mad. They did get some stick for it at the presentation though.

Bob was truely great company, willing to talk about anything. Very encouraging around the course as well.

1st of all I would just like to thank Mike and GM for allowing us the opportunity to attend this event. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day all round.

I arrived early as usual and was made very welcome by the club secretary and Rory himself. Then I heard my name being called and looked up to find Bob Wilson holding his hand out. A little star struck at 1st but Bob and his wife Meg made me feel comfortable straight away and shortly after Greg and Mike arrived. It was a little surreal for me, Bob is obviously Arsenal through and through and with me being a Spurs fan we had a a little banter.

The golf itself was a good show, everyone coming in with points when they were needed. Bob seems to be deadly with the putter and was holing out for fun! Greg, aka Amigo, was in good form and striking the ball well. Mike was steady the whole way round, he made a great chip in on the 4th for birdie also. I managed to put some points on the board when needed too.

Rory advised that Gross takings for the day were somewhere in the region of £15,000 and minus expenses the day looks to have raised in excess of £12,000 which is an amazing sum of money for a very worthwhile cause.

Once again, thanks to Mike and GM for an amazing day. It was a pleasure to play with my playing partners and I will be meeting up with Greg soon to play at his home course.

I can only echo Greg and Allan's comments - a really fun day. Greg and Allan both played well representing GM in fine style and Bob Wilson was a genuinely lovely bloke and great company
Will deffo be putting in a GM team again next year with two spots up for grabs for forumers
