Article she retweeted had the author's view being that the US cops learned the knee-on-neck restraint technique from the Israeli security forces.
Starmer has gone strong on getting rid of antisemitism from Labour. And so, no matter what might have been said in mitigation, what was in the article and that RLB endorsed by retweeting it would have been used in evidence against Starmer's convictions to root it out.

I am no Labour supporter but I have to give serious credit to Starmer for dealing with so decisively. I think we all know Corbyn would have done absolutely sod all.

Good on Starmer, another half dozen or so and he may be in a position to build a reasonable shadow cabinet.
I wonder if this was something Starmer was looking for? She didn't fit in the post Corbyn era but he probably felt obliged to include her following the leadership election. This gave him the chance to move her out with a legitimate reason. He has the added bonus of looking strong and starting to quash the anti semitism in the party. A good day for Starmer.

I'm struggling to see what was antisemitic about what RLB retweeted. This is from Pippa Crerar (Daily Mirror Political Editor) on Twitter......
"This was the offending paragraph in Maxine Peak article: “Systemic racism is a global issue. The tactics used by the police in America, kneeling on George Floyd’s neck, that was learnt from seminars with Israeli secret services."
If that was the reason that RLB was sacked then I'm struggling to see the antisemitism. Yes it's a criticism of the tactics used, that were taught by Israeli forces, but it doesn't (to me) go any further than that as any sort of critcism of Jewish people. I'm happy to be corrected if there was more to this article than just that one quote.
In response to HH's comment this wasn't said about "Jewish people" it was said against tactics used by Israeli special forces and taught to American police forces. Just by changing one word in the quote I've posted.......“Systemic racism is a global issue. The tactics used by the police in America, kneeling on George Floyd’s neck, that was learnt from seminars with Nigerian secret services." To me that wouldn't be a comment about black people, it would be about Nigerian special forces tactics.
As I've said above I'm happy to be corrected, and educated, on this matter if I've missed something but I can't see how it's antisemitic.

Has anyone checked if the Israeli Special Forces connection is true.?
Because if it is true , how can the truth be anti Jewish?

The problem with fact checking this is that it's difficult to find a "balanced" source of info to confirm or deny the truth. Googling (as I have done) brings up several websites that are either pro or anti Jewish in their views which means a large pinch of salt is required when reading it. It does seem that there are police forces in several American states that have received "seminars", or other training, from Israeli sources on the tactics used but whether this constitutes anti-semitism is beyond me.

It’s half true. The American authorities have said they did send poepl over to observe crowd control techniques but at no time was the visit a formal training course.... splitting hairs?

The sad thing is that anything seen as being critical of Israel is spun as being antisemitic even though Israel has one of the most evil regimes in the world - but they’re on “our” side so they get a free pass.
