RIP Neil Armstrong

Its a sad day when another childhood hero of mine passes away. I remember being woken up in the early hours to see him and 'Buzz' walk on the moon. That memory lived with me and influenced my decision to study engineering.

I saw a documentary not long ago and it turns out he was a virtual recluse at the end. Shying away from the media and the conspiracy theorists who plagued him for most of his later life.
Sad end for someone who should have been celebrated not hounded.

NASA will breathe a sigh of relief.

All they have to do now is wait for the other 29,999 people who worked on the project to die and the secret will be safe for ever

****One small step for man. One giant leap for mankind.****

Bloody Eddie Izzard has killed that phrase for me.......

One small Step for Man - piece of piss for a Frog.........It was funny to listen to though.

Remember being woken up to watch it. The Old Man knew it was a moment of History.
RIP A real Legend

Sad how it all seems to have taken a back seat due to costs....

One of the regrets of my life that I did not stay awake to watch it.
I had been working long hours and was knackered.
I had asked my wife [then girlfriend] to wake me but she said that I looked so peaceful she let me sleep.
