ring buying......

mrs seen me reading this and i mentioned how you lot got given a present then called her tight for not getting me one (jokingly). She said she did but i only worn it twice i denied it as had forgotten. 5mins later she produces this silver chain bracelet and asked if it looked familiar
Prob why i forgot it as it was in my draw with other bracelets chains and cufflinks i never wear. Tried a wedding ring other day and didnt do anything for me at all found it irritating.
im not a big jewellery lover dont wear a watch or anything only "jewllrey" i wear is in my tongue.

Yup, 'we' found huge perfect ring, 3.75k (2 carats in diamonds of the clearest etc etc). Now we did get treated like royalty and were given tea, coffee etc for the 2 hours or so that were there and a bottle of champagne when we were leaving. Then she mentioned platinum so had to get it reset in platinum, it's now insured for 5k and I make sure she wears it everywhere, just to get the use out of it! Haha.

Found this one out the hard way too. Luckily my mrs is trained jeweler so doesn't go for anything run of the mill. Got hers in an antique shop for 1/4 of the insurance price.

For me its whatever you can afford.

One thing I would say is steer clear from the high street jewelers. We made the trip an hour and a half south to the Jewelry qtr in Brum , saved a fortune, and got a far higher quality ring.

Took the wife out and let her pick her own. Was expecting to be left with no more than the bus fare home.
Loved her even more when she picked one at £300, did the same with the wedding ring. £90

I would tend to agree, bought mine at Hatton Garden in London, you can get a really good deal with a bit of haggling
