Returning Golfer Advice

Hi All, I am planning on returning to the game after a break of 7 years, was a 17 handicap, looking for a set of irons, that would suit, i did have Taylor Made RSi 1 Irons, are these still a good buy, secondhand, or any other suggestions, new or older models would be welcome.

Plenty of good irons out there. Places like Golfbidder would give you an idea and a base line of prices. They also offer a 7 day return policy which may help. Whatever you choose, welcome here and welcome back to golf

RSI are a still a very good club if you still have them.

RSi will be fine still, otherwise try and find a game improvement iron that looks ok to your eye and pick up a second hand set. Enjoy

No i went back to playing for a very short while, about a month, around 2014, thats when i bought the RSi's then sold them and have not played since, not played seriously since 2010.

I am exactly the same, just getting back in after 7 years away and was a 16 hcp.

I just ordered Wilson D7 irons, tested a few at AG. I liked the Callaway Rogue too. As said above look at a game improvement style, so easy to hit.

Hi welcome back.
Most irons now are very forgiving they have come on over 7 years.
Try some second hand ones at the range if you can as a 17 capper could be reg or stiff.
Try the free fitting at AG to give yourself a chance to get the correct flex this is more important than the head imo.
Lots on eBay ping are great value second hand but the choice is endless.
Just get your shaft recommendation first.
