I am thinking of replacing the shaft on my Macgregor m685... The rough estimate is about 28 pounds per club which totals up to about 250 pounds...(including grips)

I really like these Irons and am not very keen on buying a new set of clubs... But if it's better in the longer run I might just.

the cheapest comparable set I found was a benross set that is going for about 330 pounds

What do you, my fellow forumers think???

Yours in these bloody trickey game :)

Objectively, it ain't worth it. You will spend £250 but the market value for the clubs will not even be that afterwards.

But if they are special clubs to you, and you want to keep them, and it is worth the money, go ahead. Make sure the shafts you get are suitable, and are fitted by a competent fitter.

Thanx for the list...

am looking for 5.5's; 4.5's are too flexible

The one with the 5.5's asked 27 pounds for shipping it to NL... and that's with used grips!!!

Thanx again for the list... wil consider...
