I have two Callaway iron heads I've pulled shafts from which are 0.70 size hosels. I have 2 new uncut shafts sizes 0.355 tips.

Bearing in mind the Callaway heads have shaft slots that go right through the hosel can I put the smaller shafts in, slide them through and trim off whatever small amount sticks out without unduly affecting the shaft flex?

I realise there are adaptor rings to sort this but would be interested to know the above nonetheless i.e is that size difference negligible in terms of flex.

Not sure about parallel Dave, the shafts I pulled don't look parallel, they look tapered.

Just got rid of what I wrote. You beat me to the draw there. Might be the shafts I have or just my crap eyesight. Take your pick? eyes most likely!

If you push the shaft further in and trim off what sticks out then you are essentially "tipping" the shaft which will stiffen the flex in the tip considerably and may make the ball flight lower.
