Piazza San Pietro, 4.10, Ripon.

This is the horse that has earned me a huge profit over recent times.

Form is - 212111, spotlighted at 99.

Currently priced at 10/1 in a field of 17 in which there are only 2 other hopes.

Definately an e/w steal and probably a good shout for the win as this horse just charges home.

Step up in class today jon, done all its winning in poor races so i think i'll just watch this one.

My 2 fancies for today are:

2.35 Sandown - Stentorian @ 6/1

I was all over Native Khan last week before he was pulled out due to the rain softened ground. He's the hot favourite for this race today, and while it's hard to take him on, I've got to after seeing the price available for Mark Johnston's runner. While I think Native Khan will win, Stentorian should never be 6/1 in this race and I thought he'd be the 3/1 second fav, and even that price would be generous. He finished 2 lengths behind Zoffany in Ireland who has since beaten Strong Suit, then finished 3rd at Goodwood behind King Torus when he didn't handle the track. Backing him purely on value grounds.

4.25 Curragh - Glor Na Mara @ 11/10

Jim Bolger always aims his best horse at this race. On only his second ever run, he ran a cracker to split Zoffany and Strong Suit running to a mark of 114. Nothing else in today's field has ran to more than 93 so far so they've all got at least 20lb to find with this one - a big ask. Should be odds on.

Good luck.

Im all over Piazza at a pony e/w.

Not a classy field as such and there is a strong chance that the favourite is going to be pulled out aswell.

Thats a long price on stentorian, 6/1 is generous for a horse in form and on good-to-firm ground it will finish very strong and push every inch for the winning-post. May e/w double that with piazza.

Stentorian should be well shorter imo jon, i'm not too confident of it beating the fav but at that price i cant just sit and watch. bel cantor has already been pulled out another being pulled out and your down to a 1/5 odds.

Goodluck though pal

If I put £10 to win on Stentorian then use that for a win on Piazza, is this sensible?

I'm hopeless when it comes to betting.

What would I ask for when placing the bet?

A double to me means double dutch!

Cheers

I've just managed to do it online.

I registered with Paddy Power.

£10 will give me a return of £910.

I haven't bet on horses in over 16 years.

Fingers crossed!
