As the title says anyone got any recommendation's for some cheaper shoes for the winter (£50) mark? I currently have white Adidas ATV's which are virtually brand new but I don't want to wreck them in the bad weather.

I'm 26 and prefer trendier (sports) shoes against ball room dancing look alikes LOL

Thanks in advance

The Nike Bandon boots are excellent. Waterproof, breathable and easy to clean plus they don't look like your grannies winter boots. Only problem is trying to get hold of them. Clubhouse golf have them in stock at around £80.

Edit--- just checked and an absolute bargain at £60.

your atv's are ideal for winter, why would it wreck them? dont forget they are guaranteed waterproof for 2 years.

atvs are great in the winter, really warm, comfy and waterproof. Just give them a good clean after every round. Or buy some black ones like I did. White for summer, black for winter.

Greenjoys. In summer the artificial upper can be horrible compared to leather but they are great in the winter and very waterproof. I had a pair and they stayed good for just over a year before a crack in the upper ruined the waterproof aspect, They were still very comfy though, In fact they were so comfy a guy I lent them too on a society outing (he forgot his shoes and I usually carry a spare pair of most things) bought them off me for £15 despite the lack of waterproofing!

Personally had mixed experience with lower cost Nike. One pair I have are a little narrow at the toe and can cause my middle toe nail to go under the longer one beside it. If my nails are a little long then this cuts my toe. Not the best. Another are really comfortable but the coating on the toes started to peel a little after about 7 rounds despite me caring for them better than any other pair of shoes I've ever owned.

On a side note I have decided to take a punt on Wormwood shoes costing £45 after reading the review re: their shirts and then subsequent reviews on the shoes. I'll put up a review after I get them and use them for a few rounds. They'll be getting at least 3 full rounds in before the end of September and probably a few 9 hole practices. 1 of these "test" rounds will be Murvagh, a links course and quite a long one so a good test of comfort. The other 2 planned rounds are both on parkland courses. Should provide a good test of waterproof and comfort.

They certainly look the part. I got the black, red and white ones as that is a bit of a theme in the colour of my kit.

While my expensive ECCO shoes were being replaced due to the front sole of the right shoe coming away I purchased a pair of budget Stubert from AG to get me by. They are the most comfortable and supportive pair of shoes I have ever had worn, I have the replacement pair of ECCo but cant get round to wearing them as I know they wont be as comfortable.

These were my summer shoe of choice, should be good for winter too

FJ Dryjoy Tours. I bought mine last November and still in great condition. Have changed the studs twice in that time, but keep my feet waterproof and extremely comfortable IMO. Tried Nike and FJ SynrG before hated the Nike and found the SynrG bad as the supposed memory foam lost its memory and they felt sloppy on my feet.

my friend Normie bought the addidas boots and was warm, toasty and dry all last winter! he'd recommend them!

the only things going on my feet this winter are a pair of warm comfy slippers when i sit in front of my log fire watching the tv,winter golf not for me this year.

Well following all of your advice I've gone for something completely different... Nike Lunars in BLK & RED LOL at £90 they where a little over budget but I've always liked them. I've kind of defeated the object of not ruining my ATV'S as these where only a tenna less but should deal with mud better being black, oh well!!!

Will be interested to see how you get on with the Woodworm shoes, I also took a punt on the shirts and think they are as good if not better than kit I have seen for two or three times the price.
