After hearing of andiritchie's hole in one yesterday I'm quite surprised at the lack of recognition on here.
Let's face it, when teeing it up on a par 3, what is it we all hope for, really, if it's not a hole in one then why bother.
Was it bacause it was just a friendly and not a comp?
Doesn't make it less of an achievement IMHO.

What d'ya think guys?

Perhaps the GM TEAM may like to comment - a mention in the next magazine perhaps. :)

I must admit i do look for a hole in one on any par 3 but our 17th is 110 yards and i think that is the most likely one for me on a normal round.

No joy yet but one day!

Hole in ones are to some extent good fortune, I've been fortunate once :)
Never looked at trying to get a hole in one, just to make a good pass at the ball and get it close enough for a birdie chance.

Regarding recogition by GM. Believe this is done by another mag.,with a condition that it has to be in a competition.A hole in one tie is available if my memory serves me

Did he get a hole in one then ? Never saw a thread about it ! Well done Andy

I for one dont have hole-in-one on my mind when teeing up on a par 3. I have something along the lines of hit swing smooth and get the distance right

I'm still looking for the post which told us he had a hole in one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well done Andy and the OP is probably right it should have been recognised more on here. Are they luck. Well probably but at the end of the day the aim is to get the ball in the hole in the fewest shots. No different to holing out from the fairway. Good man Andy

It was on the "How did we all do today", thread page 2.
By the way, I wasn't having a pop at anyone, just surprised it didn't get more of a mention.

I wouldn't say that, a hole in one was on my mind literally, more in the back of my mind before taking the shot. Hope that makes sense. :D :D :D

Didn't see it but well done Andy.

Dependant on where they stick the pins, I am actively aiming away/ long/ short of the hole. Would still love to have just one though, even if it was a push or a pull!!

Thanks guys i just shoved the post on the 'how did you get on'

I was chuffed to bits a first for me and i struck the ball pure which made it more special

I always said i would end up blading a hole in one now its not the case

Here's to the next one

Now you mention it i have :)

The clubhouse was shut when i finished so didn't have chance to get the drinks in.I was not in a comp so would not be recorded but it would of cost me in the bar

Double standards :)

Virtual beers though
