Alright lads here's the deal ; I'm 19 and situated in Renfrew (Renfrewshire) I've played golf on and off since i was a boy but i've never been able to fully commit to it until now. I'm looking to start taking my golf seriously and getting properly into it. The only courses i'm able to play regularly are Barshaw + Rouken Glen (Horrible courses) as these are the only courses i can easily get to and are affordable for the odd game. I don't drive and very few of my friends are interested in golf, so transport is my biggest hurdle right now. I was a member at Cowglen Golf Club for a couple years when i was 16/17 with my father, however he is no longer able to play so i chucked paying the silly yearly fee for a handful of games a year. I've recently been considering getting myself a membership at Renfrew Golf Club, mainly because if i could get myself a locker i could walk to the course in 10 mins and play a few times a week. Is there any other options i should explore first before jumping into Renfrew? Bearing in mind my main method of transport would be public/walking to the course.
At the moment i'd consider myself a below average player but i'm determined to get better, I'm aware Renfrew is considered a fairly difficult course however it appears my options are limited for now.

Any help is appreciated and apologies for the length of the post :D
