Range Practice Time

At the range i use the lad has a lesson package where we can use Trackman for ab hour in between lessons which is a good idea, we now hire it for an hour which is £18 with 100 balls included trying to work on club path for me is my big problem so Trackman gives me the info

That's awesome. I'd definitely do that!

Less is definitely more. So easy to be ingraining bad habits. Welcome along. Where do you play?
Thank you, I'm in Newcastle. I used to be on here a few years ago.
Changed jobs and moved house a couple times since, but hoping to play more golf next year.
Will need to get into a routine of regular structured practice.

In the winter I work on very little, just keeping in the rhythm on swinging.

In the warmer weather, get a bit more specific. First will be gap testing over a few sessions. Then maybe a few sessions on 125 and in, short game, putting. I'll occasionally work on long game if something isn't working out on the course.

Glad to see most of the replies have a positive and structured attitude towards range sessions. Normally I would rather be out on the course but in this weather and at this time of year it isn't always possible.
So, I try and work on everything at the range.

I think some forumers are hiding behind their keyboard too afraid to stand up and just say they smash everything down in to the ether with the driver:D:o

I know you get princess lies etc but at least if you are working on technical things you don't need to make compensations and hopefully groove what you are working on and then when you get to thew course the fundamentals are sound and you just adapt to the surroundings. That is why I feel it is also important to finish each session with hitting 20 balls or so going through your normal process as you would on the course and not hit two of the same shots in a row.

Just watched a Crossfield video where he suggests playing around with lies at the range. So balance pads to stand on, one foot on, one foot off the mat, different tee heights and so on and practise delivering the club with the right lie angle each time. Sounds like a decent idea.
