Nightmare summer so far!

News is reporting a 2.5" rain fall across central England for the next 12 hours and yet I saw severe flooding the other week when it was reported we couldn't cope with 1" in 24hrs so god help us!

Can't see my shotgun and barbecue being on tonight and even our medal tomorrow might be at risk if its going to be as bad as they report.

Started here already think we've had getting on for an inch already!
Not looking good for the weekend again chances are High of another off weekend :(

Raining here and flood warning for the Great Ouse which runs round our course. It was just recovering from the last flooding on the back 9 so hope it doesn't suffer again.

Only upside is I played in the sunshine yesterday and always planned today to be golf-free!

Monsoon in North Yorkshire. Lane to ours is flooded already and I've not seen water right across it in the 12 years we've lived here.

Not even bothering to check if the course is open...foregone conclusion.

Oh well, HID needs a hand decorating the sitting room:whistle:.

Wettest April on record, wettest June on record, and July is off to a flyer! Gold medals in the Olympic will be handed out to those who actually make it to the start line !

was due to play Coventry Hearsall this morning on a freebie, the course is closed :(

Its been closed a few times this year already as I was supposed to play their B team a month ago.

TBH, there hasn't been that much rain in Cov this morning or over night and it was glorious yesterday so I can only imagine that the stream that runs through it is up and overflowed onto the course but that would only close 3 holes at most!

I am aware that there are a lot of disgruntled members there currently.

Wettest April-June EVER! It's apparently going to be glorious from mid July onwards so the guys at the Open will get lovely playing conditions.

I'm down south for a few days and getting sunburnt, how do I move here as Scottish weather really sux compared to this.

I play at a course in Gateshead NE England where we've already had 5 comps cancelled. It's sods law with the weather where its ok in the week and then it chucks it down later so the course is closed for the weekend.
We've had a lot of new members who may now go to another course next year such as on the coast were its always open.

Sat at the driving range, watching the rain. Was going to play a few holes today, but can't be bothered.

Got some furniture being delivered after 12, so that'll be fun in the rain. Wet footprints all over the house.

Will sit and watch the tennis later, on my new settee.

I heard that too - my mate is a member there and said there were mutterings amongst the members.

He says it is closed a lot at the moment just because the ground is so saturated - that I can understand. Just hope my place is open for the medal tomorrow but not sure even though it drains really well.

If your at Nuneaton its a great course and drains very well. I played there a month ago in the Pro-Am for the first time and loved the course, the food and the beer ;-)

Not at Nuneaton - I'm at the cheaper side of town at Oakridge. Agreed about Nuneaton as a course though well worth playing. Got a few workmates who are members at your place, a very nice couse with the most congested pro shop I have ever been in.

I will be playing there in August for our works society captain's day - as we have for past 3 years provided this incessant rain stops for long enough.

You'll see a great difference since your last visit, the course is looking and playing great.

Loads of work was done and is still being done since we found out that they moved the HS2 away from our course.

We are due to have a months worth of rain (10mm) in the next 24 hours , oh and we have the club handicap medal tomorrow ...thats 36 holes in 1 day.............great
