I am an extremely quick putter, no matter how slow I attempt to hit the ball, within reason, I am more often than not going beyond the hole and more.

I am looking for advice on top of my practice on what I cam do to soften the feel of my putter to allow me to continue with a positive putting stroke.

The best putting lesson I had was to take a practice shot knowing that you will hit it too hard/fast, followed by one that you know would be too short. You will get a better feel for the right strength to strike the ball.
However a ball hit short never goes in - I was told to try and get it 12 to 18 inches past the hole.
Good luck….

Could always buy a new putter with a softer insert face. Or, perversely, if you already have a soft putter then maybe a milled face would force you to hit it a bit softer, otherwise it will fly off a mile past the hole.

Have you tried changing your grip? Pencil/claw grip for example, a lot of people find it harder to hit with a lot of pace because their dominant hand isn't on the club as much.

Lay an alignment stick about 18 inches to 2 feet behind the hole and practice stopping the ball between the hole and the stick.

Is the length of your backstroke the same, regardless of the length of the putt. You just hit it harder for longer putts, I do this when I lose my rhythm.
Take the putter away slower and stoke slower. Also look up “metronome” and set this to a pace between 70 to 80 and work on that
