i've been looking at a putting mirror and a putting rail for about £45. i want something to use at home and these look a simple but effective means of practicing when the mrs is watching 'eastenders'

i was wondering if anyone rates them as an effective training tool. dont want to shed out the cash if there pants

Bob? ... Bob? ... BOB!!! must be having an early night :)

I have looked at the putting rail myself but reckon a couple of quid for a meter ruler that we had at school would do the same job.

One thing I am going knock up my self is the aim line made of string and a couple of spikes to suspend it above the ball line.

I would recommend the yes putting mirror for making sure your eyes are over the ball and your shoulders are square, along with a V-Easy for keeping the stroke correct. I have both and they can be used together and will undoubtedly improve your putting.

Errr. I can't, must resist, the urge is strong!

Enough of that.

Putting mirror, V-easy, Pathfinder, all good products, and regular use will help. Just don't forget to put it into practice on the putting green, and I don't just mean 5 minutes before you tee off.

Just one thing I would add is one of those ball marking alignment aids that not only puts a direction of putt line on the ball, but also a perpendicular line on the ball for squaring the club face to. Not only useful on the green, but also off the tee.

I won't post links to it all, but the site has a link below.

Shameless.

You'll have Chesster in here in a minute calling you all sorts of names :)

If a practice aid helps you, then great. What I'm not keen on are the ones that show you that you have a fault but dont offer a solution.

definetly purchase a V Easy, locks your shoulders exactly where they should be and keeps your putting stroke smooth and straight.

Also line you putts up using either a line on the ball, or I use the <-AD333-> on my ball and line it up with the line in your putter..

Booom.... rolls in the hole.

The rail is a damn frustrating bit of kit. I kind of like it, but hate it too.
There are so many good gadgets out there. I like the true-plane.

I have a myriad of devices. The V-Easy really is simple to use and does what it says on the (funny shaped) box. I have a putting rail

a putting mirror into which the rail fits to make it a whole putting system

and my wife bought this for me for Christmas which is ideal for getting the clubface travelling back and through with instant feedback
