Pro like me?

Just picking up on something from another thread where members are liking themselves to Pro golfers in terms of their swing style and/or rhythm, to try and get themselves into the right frame of mind for their shot.

So for a bit of fun, who would you say your swing style or rhythm resembles the most.

Els and Monty for me I've got quite a slow controlled take away, and a long sweeping follow through, which looks as though my overall swing is slow and easy but somewhere I generate enough power to get the ball out there (sometimes)

I've always been likened to Chris Wood. I'm a little shorter (6ft3in) but take a similar stance, in particular a very straight back at address.

I'm about to start a course of lessons with his coach (Paul Mitchell at Bristol & Clifton), so hopefully he'll be able to get me playing like him too!

In my head I swing with the elegance of Ernie Els. Unfortunately my son recently recorded me using an app on his ipad and the reality was utterly shocking. No grace whatsoever, stiff and uncomfortable. I have no one in the pro ranks to compare to sadly. Once the memory of the recording has gone I will be back to thinking I have the smooth swing of Ernie.

I love the fact how Butch Harmon said that Jim has had the same swing all of his career and never tried to change it. People have slagged him off and yes hes been quirky and faffed about on the greens etc and hes not anyway near the longest of the shorter ones....but Jesus how successful has he been with over $60m ( one of the all time best) in prize money alone and constantly in the top 10 every week Id take it in a heart beat.... it just shows golf is not a game of perfect to quote a well known author.....

Matt Kuchar for me. Like him I have short legs & long arms, meaning I don't bend over the ball a lot. This means the shoulders turn on a very flat plane and that, combined with the fact I play with very little wrist hinge, makes the swing look very flat, "One Plane" like Kuchar. It's here for anyone brave enough to look.

I "feel" that my swing is like Matt Kuchar, but sadly "real" is something else. So for the moment I'll stick with Kuchar.

That's impossible! You can't be like both. Jim Hardy, in his book "The Plane Truth" describes the one plane & two plane swings. He describes Els' swing as classic one plane. Monty is extreme two plane. I've never been able to understand how Monty, swinging the way he does, doesn't hit it 45° left of where it goes. I'll have a good chance of studying his swing on 30/9 when I photograph him for 3 hours at a VIP golf event at Slaley Hall. Really looking forward to it.

Without getting technical I suppose i picked those 2 because of Els' rhythm and apparent lack of effort, and i know I'm playing well when my follow through feels long and elongated like Monty's
