Apologies to regular wrx browsers who may have already seen this, but in response to a thread about how slow Ben Crane plays golf, someone posted up a youtube link that made me smile anyway...(**)

It was taken by a guy who was paired up with someone at the start of his round (think it happens quite often in the states). I think he took is as therapy, because I'm sure he must have been tempted to resort to physical violence.

enjoy :

** when I typed that first paragraph I realised that I really need to find something more constructive to do on a monday evening while yet another sky4 ad break is playing).

All that and he sliced it! I probably would have coughed gently just as he was about to swing back.

that what happens when you play golf in perfect conditions all the time! if the wind was howling about him and a sprinkling of cold rain running down his face he certainly wouldn't be acting like that!

To keep things moving!

That's about average time I take to hit my shots... I know I want to make sure I'm both mentally and physically ready for the shot, especially a drive. I don't see what the problem is?

;) bombs away!

It's not right but personally I wouldn't have a problem with it, I'd be marking my card, having a quick drink or a sarnie, sharpening my pencil, cleaning the grooves on my club etc etc. some people struggle with this game.

That said - I'd try to avoid him in future. :p

Before every shot? I would need a hell of a lot of sarnies!

I'd rather he did that and kept it in play than rush and hit it in the crap so we have to spend 5 minutes looking for every tee shot of his (the real cause of slow play!)

Think about it, a 4-ball of average/poor golfers will hit 10 balls into the rough, at 5mins each that's 50 minutes!! not to mention reloads/provisionals etc etc. Peoples perception of slow play here is nothing to do with reality.... next people will be moaning about people marking their cards whilst on the green..... even though there's still one guy still putting out.

In fact, I'd challenge anyone to show the difference between an entire group standing on the green marking their cards and the same group all doing the same thing before they tee off on the next tee!

There is, of course, a way that that time can actually be saved, but it rarely happens in my experience!

All that time for a shot that looked pretty average.
It wasn't exactly very dynamic and he had no movement in his lower body, looks like he would struggle to make a full rotation or commit to the shot.

That would be seriously frustrating to have to watch on every shot.

He might play slow, but he's hilarious, so I'll let him off. Love this video.
