Pre-paid US dollar card or another way?

It's a valid point about pre-paying, but with interest rates currently as rubbish as they are, and the pretty short duration of the "loan", you're not really losing out on anything. (At least not on the amount I'd take on holiday :)).

Exactly, uk current accounts pay little to no interest anyway and even when they do its only on the first few thousand and after that its nothing anyways. Plus you're talking of spending money for holidays, not savings.

How do you use Revolut in the US? I have the app but never used the credit card. Assume you get the digital card and then use it retailers who have Apple Pay or similar NFC points? Is there a limit on transcription size eg UK contactless is 30 quid.
Most places in Texas this week don’t seem to have contactless.

Revolut is a pre paid MasterCard chip and pin debit card with contactless but I don’t know contactless limit. I just st used it same way as here.

Some places / shops in America seem very far behind in personal banking services compared to what we have over here. When we have been over in recent years a lot of credit card transactions were still signed for, no chip and pin!!

Lots of places don’t even ask you to sign!! Just swipe your card and that’s it!!
