A while back I posted (.... I forget where) about hitting my 9 iron and wedges out of the toe area.
Ok, so not miles out but still not what you'd call out of the screws.
I've started to dedicate 2 nights a weeks to purely practice. Mainly short game with a trip to the range once a week. Last night I was working from 100 yards in and in greenside chipping from 5-25 yards. Mainly to try and improve and also see if I can solve this issue with the off centre strike.
I decided to leave the grass marks on the face, mainly to see where I was striking it and, well, as the ground was solid getting any form of spin was nigh on impossible.
So after pitching about 20 balls I had this.
By the end of the session I had:
Much better grouping and what felt a much crisper strike. Simple solution to my problem was at address. I'd been standing inside the ball to make a practice swing, but then not moving close enough to the ball to play my shot.
There are 2 small thing I'm in the process of working on the seemed to help on both pitching and chipping but I would never have come across the fix to my strike issue if I hadn't practiced.
