I had the bad fortune to visit my local post office in town today to post my brother's birthday present off to Scotland.
Nay bother I thought.......
When it came to my turn, I approached the window and noticed there was a mini letter box to test my envelope.
Yeup it fitted through albeit a bit snug.
After what seemed an age, the middle aged rotund face finally looked up and said "next".
That'll be me then standing right in front of her.
After weighing the parcel, she said "pass it through" I decided not to wait for a "Please" and did what I was instructed.
She then passed my envelope through the dummy slot and to my surprised said it would have to go as a small parcel!
I asked why as it easily passed through the slot.
"Well, I had to push it a bit to go through"
After a long Victor Meldrew session I eventually gave up as the envelope has to be in Fife by Wednesday.
Reluctantly paid double the postage and left in a right huff.
Are there any P.O. workers here can explain why a postman cant push an envelope through a 26 mm slot when my letterbox is about 40 mm
