Played this hidden gem of a course on sunday afternoon for £30. I live within 30 minutes of the course yet did not know of its existence until invited to play.
Well laid out and in very good condition. Whilst only 2838 yards on the front nine, the undulating fairways,
slight dog legs and fast greens make it a real challenge.
Tree lined fairways with measured rough and winding streams ensure a visual pleasure.
Made to feel very welcome by the members we came across.
Well worth a visit and ranked as one of my favourite courses - easily comparable with the Palmerston at Brockett and if in the area, Porters Park and Dyrham Park nearby must be on your golfing itinery.

Hope how is membership at Poters Park? It doesn't actually state a figure on their website just says contact the manager. Pictures from their site look very good, must try to get out there sometime

I that area, The London Shire is definitely my favourite - even with that b*st*rd 1st hole!:D

Only a couple of courses I'll drive 45 miles to play, but that's certainly one of them - and I do it quite often.
