Are we still breathing north of the border. What a run and off the post. Let off
Great point away from home, will take that.
Not sure if a point was enough but Ireland have helped
I enjoyed that, but next time Hutton and Whittaker shouldn't even be on the bench, good result for rep ireland but bad for Scotland though.
As NWjocko says theres not a great choice at right back., but i would play Russell Martin or even Phil bardsley at right back, left back Charlie Mulgrew , Robertson or even Lee Wallace.I think Hutton has played every single minute of Strachans Scotland management? Weird if true.
I'd play Whittaker rb and Robertson lb from now.
Watch it then lets hear your comments .I've never really understood the anti-Hutton/whittaker comments. Both good players (in Scottish terms) and in Hutton, especially, I don't think we've got a better right back.
That said, I wasn't able to watch the game so can't comment on how culpable he was for the goal(s).
I'll tell his dad Tony you said that, he'll be chuffed, and Mark would do a decent job.:thup:Hutton wasn't great last night but he (used to at least) offer something going forward.
Strachan said he played Whittaker basically for his height at set pieces. Robertson had a great game at the weekend and has looked very good in the EPL aswell, like I said I just wish we'd be been a bit braver and played him for what he offers on the ball and going forward, let's face it we need as many threats as possible.
Normally wouldn't have been a bad point to get but the way the group is just now we really could have done with the 3 points.
Might be worth having a more defensive RB (Whittaker even) to get Robertson playing. He seems to like Martin at CB so can't see him being moved.
Was a shame Reynolds wasn't involved although may just be my Dons bias
In September England were 20th spot Scotland were 28th in the rankings. Look at the draw they got, their top seed is Switzerland.Good to see some competition for places in the Scotland side nowadays. Team looks much better, just a shame our rubbish ranking got us such a tough group.
