I am planning to go abroad late summer for one week with the wife and would like to incorporate a game of golf or two. Destinations could be anywhere from Portugal, Spain, Canary Islands, France. The wife has just started golf lessons and if possible I would like to be near a golf complex/course where maybe tuition is available for her and a course that is playable for beginners, so no championship style courses.

Does anyone have any recommendations from personal experience?

Head for Murcia Spain and you'll have an abundance of courses to choose from.

My recommendations Lo Romero, Hacienda Del Alamo, La Finca and also La Cala.

I agree, Murcia is great for golf( I do have a vested interest as I have an apartment for rent). I live further north but the abundance of courses and cheap prices, both for golf and flights, make it an excellent destination. The cities of Murcia and Cartagena are good for a visit as are the spas at Fortuna. The Polaris sites all have 5star hotel and leisure facilities on site. To be even handed I have to say Portugal is a very nice country as well. Pm if you wish I know of many apartments and villas on Polaris and I hope you have a good time! :)
