I have been using Taylor made burner irons with graphite shafts. However I recently bought an ex demo ping g10 7 iron red dot with Ping AWT / stiff steel shaft. I took it to the range and I am hitting this club far better than my current clubs, do you think it would make sense to make this my choice of clubs? The Taylor made set was bought without much thought, basically just as to have a set to use! I have read that the g10 are GI irons so it kinda makes sense, any thoughts?

I've played with Cleveland irons for the last few years and thought they were great. I picked up a G10 6 iron from the JJB firesale with a green dot and boy what a difference. The feeling is great and I hit it miles better. I've since bought a G10 set with green dots and am having the lie and loft checked tomorrow and adjusted. Definitely get yourself some G10's

scott, don't rush into spending your money yet. Your burners are graphite and the G10's steel, this alone could be the difference. If you like the burner then go and try a steel set. I use G10 black dot, as they where cheaper than chips, I would recommend you to go and try different clubs with different shafts.

I went to a pro for a lesson and he said if I was going to stick at the golf he would recommend changing to steel shafts, my swing speed was mid to high eighties, too fast for graphite he said. the g10 just feels altogether a whole lot better. better flight, straighter and more distance.
I won't be buying till possibly march anyways so I guess I have time to try other options

big chunky ugly beasts, dont half get the ball up though. Deffo worth the change imho, just didnt suit my eye at address but still went very well indeed.
