..........BOTH go to Keegan Bradley!!! Can fully understand the Rookie one.......but Tour Player as well.......thought Luke may have taken that one! thoughts and opinions?!
That would be crazy is Bradley won Tour player. Surely it's got to be Luke?
Just had a look at the adjusted stroke average stat on PGA Tour website (imo the best measure of whos playing the best golf) and Luke leading the category by an absolutely RIDICULOUS margin...
The vote has been put back..........if it went ahead when it should have then LD was miles ahead of the others but the PGA have moved the goalposts........see above.
good old Yank mentality, if one of our own can't win it yet we will put it back till they can!!!
I think every pro on tour would like Luke to win it if they couldnt nominate themselves. Especially after the loss of his dad (not saying that should sway it but let the stats speak for themselves and also show a bit of decency)
The PGA Tour is allegedly very insular. They don't like Johnny Foreigner coming over and taking 'their' money.
This is based on something that Tony Johnson said in GM a few years ago (maybe about the PGA Champions Tour, but I reckon the mentality percolates through to the regular tour).
Decisions like this (putting the vote back until after the HSBC) appear to perpetuate this observation.
If it goes to anyone other than Luke it will show everyone exactly how insular the Yanks are.
There's no point holding a vote - it's blindingly obvious who is the Player of the Year.
Watney and Stricker had good seasons but didn't keep it going long enough. Simpson's won 2 PGA events - so what - so did Luke and Luke won twice more. Bradley is the only one that could possibly compete and, although he won a Major, hasn't figured all season like Luke. Give him the Rookie and leave the proper award for the best player in the World.
And to keep moving the goalposts - well that just sucks a big one.
Any respect I have for the US PGA will disappear if anyone other than Luke Donald wins.
I wonder if the Americans are accusing all of us of bias in wanting Luke to win. Although from the reception that Luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke gets across the US, I would imagine he'd be a popular winner.
