Thanks Robster59, tried a Fabia once and it put me off Skoda's, but maybe that was a bit hasty, I will have a browse 🤔
I would like find something with.......wait for it......Diesel, zero tax, good mph (over 60 comb) reasonably low mileage, good adjustable driving position, not that easy if your short and have a knackered back!!) and of course a boot big enough for a girls golf bag and lots of gadgets to relieve the boredom
Oh and a budget of around 5k
Unfortunately Jan, you are looking for the impossible.
Low mileage, zero tax and Diesel don't all fit into your £5k criteria.
A Diesel Qashqai is good on mpg, but it's only the latest model that is zero tax. You will be looking at £15k minimum for one of those with a decent specification.
The earliest Qashqai you will find is going to be an 07 plate, (you might be really lucky and find one of the very first on a 56 plate) but even if you could find one in your price range it's likely to have over 100k on it, and it won't be zero tax. I think the earlier ones were £110.00.
Personally I would be looking elsewhere. Skoda or SEAT spring to mind.
Have found this one on ebay which is a Tekna version so has all the bits and pieces on it..

But like I say it's over 100k and it won't be zero tax. Plus it should have had a cambelt change by now, maybe two!
Says it has full dealer service history so this should have been done.
