If I leave my PC alone for more than approx 15 min it gets disconnected from the web and I literally have to reboot the PC to get a connection again - any ideas?

I'm with BT, have a black homehub 2, running XP pro.

Thanks in adv.....

I'd recommend talking more. Let your emotions out. Don't ignore it. Let it know you care, and will always be there for it.

It's shutting you out because you use it, and then ignore it.

That's no way for a modern man to behave.

Do you have it set-up to disconnect in the properties.
also is it wired or wireless?

It's connected directly to my router with a Cat5 cable, it is not set up to disconnect.... well not from what I can find

I know there used to be a setting in the old dial-up modems to disconnect after 20 minutes if idle but I thought that had been done away with now?

It's possible that Windows power management is turning off the card after a set amount of time, but cannot bring it back online when you return. This would require a reboot.

In Control Panel, go to Network Connections, right click on the relevant connection & go to properties.

Under "Connect Using," click on Configure & then click on the Power Management tab. Untick the box that says "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" & click OK.

Reboot the PC at this stage just to be certain, but that should hopefully solve the problem.

Rob. :)
