Heard today I hve been cut by 2 from 25 to 23. Started out after doing cards at 27, went down in autumn comps to 25. Assumed no more changes until season starts in April - apparently not!
Okay I suppose I had it coming - have earned a few nice prizes lately - but no one warned me!

AliB. Is that your bandit's mask you are trying to dispose of, in the pic ??? ... ;) ;) :p

Well done on your handicap reduction it sounds like youve done pretty well off 25.but i must ask the question why you thought you should be told surely the club would have stated this prior to the comp.

I have already been cut twice this year due to the two comps i have won,one of the comps only had 17 people enter.Does anyone know the minimum amount of players in a comp for it to be a qualifier for a handicap cut. Also can anyone enlighten me on what formats are used for hp cuts,is it all formats apart from team comps.

Thought under CONGU it would only be in Exceptional circumstances that the Committe could invoke a cut especially if you have played in Qualifying Comps

Following my previous post this is quoted from CONGU guidlines

Handicap Committees should recognise, however, that the majority of players who have returned a reasonable number of Qualifying Scores, through the year, will most probably have had appropriate handicap adjustments applied by the System to take account of any changes in their playing ability. They should also be confident that, provided the intent of the UHS is honoured by all parties, the System produces handicaps in relation to each player's current ability that stand comparison with the handicaps of players at other clubs.

I went down from 22 to 20 at the turn of the year without warning. Still, with 5 wins (one of which got me on the honours board last year) a 'general play' cut was probably expected.

But Ali did say she had won some prizes so we can assume she has been cut on the results of those comps

This is exactly what CONGU are saying. If she has played below her handicap she has been cut appropiately.

There should not be 'cuts' arbitarilly

They also say clubs should carry out an Annual Review of all members handicaps.
This is where people can get chopped without knowing.
You just have to keep your eye on the board.

sorry - forgot to say it was Annual Review - that's why it was unexpected by me. Have only been there since September (since when I have done three cards to get a handicap and then been cut twice up to end of season which I thnk was in October) - so it has been a speedy decrease.

But yes, my sombrero well adn truly off. (Twire - what on earth is that you are wearing these days?)
