Hi guys,

Looking at getting a new driver. Narrowed it down to two either callaway x hot or ping G20.

Really struggling to decide so just looking for some feedback anyone may have on either that might help me decide. Can get both for around about the same price so that is not an issue.

Thanks

Do you mind mentioning where there is a deal on the xhot. That would interest me but only seen them cheap in low lofts or with stiff shafts.

I have the Xhot pro and tried the Ping when i was looking at replacing my old Mizuno driver.

Shaft in the ping as a bit too high launch for me and felt on the soft side and that was the TFC stiff, i gained about 10 yards with the Xhot and like the Project X shaft, i would try both side by side and see what you prefer.

How did you get the those two? Have you hit them both?

Been unable to hit them, as none of the shops near me have them in stock to try. I know it's not idea to buy without trying but I'm not looking to spend loads and the only drivers in stock at the shops are higher than my budget.

Not sure of your h/c, however I have a G20 with Reg stock shaft, its a very straightforward club which is easy to hit and pretty forgiving, probably not the longest (in my hands anyway) but its not a bad all rounder, I havnt tried the Callaway.

Can't comment on the ping but I found the xhot a lot easier to hit than the nike covert. I bought the 10.5 degree

Hi there,

I have the G20 9.5 deg with stiff shaft and find the driver very forgiving, with hits off the toe losing little distance. I have the stock stiff shaft and at a recent demo day my driver speed was measured as being 105. On a good solid hit the ball carries around 240-250 for me. I also have the matching 3 wood with the same shaft and its really easy to hit long and straight.

i like the size and shape of the driver head which inspires confidence for me. I would also say that I have mob problem launching the ball and getting sufficient height in my drives.

I hope this helps, but if you want any more info just let me know.

Cheers

I have the G20 10.5 deg with regular shaft. I am a very straight, albeit short hitter, and I hit about 85% of fairways with it, even with off centre hits. Absolutely love it.

Won't matter imo. Either will be fine!

I've tried both and both feel great, with no significant difference in distance or dispersion. Would come down to which one had the better feeling shaft for me.

Have owned both, replaced the G20 with the Xhot just found the Xhot longer and easier to hit.

This was just my personal preference though and the G20 is in no way a bad club

Not sure if this is relevant, but I tried the X2 Hot and thought he head felt very 'light', to the extent it was difficult to know where it was in the back swing, hence return it how I would like. I've not found this with others clubs, so I think in trying to get the weight down to allow faster swing speeds for normal mortals, this is the compromise and is a might too far for me in this case.
