up at the club today for a bit of short game practice, and on the putting green, and got talking to a junior member, who played off 10 he's 16 played for 3years, the course was chocka but we found a window and off we went,

he kills the ball it flys a mile and he is accurate with it, my 7iron is his 9iron/PW, i took a 8 iron on a par 3 and blocked it right he took a wedge and put it 8yards from the pin!!! also the spin get gets is just wow, and this is him using a noodle!! looked effortless for him,

he looking to get down to 8 this year and for the 7 holes i played with him and him being 1under gross i can see him doing it and possibly more

just wish i found the game at his age!

Wait till he discovers girls, I seem to remember that did a load of no good for me rugby for a few years:whistle:.

If I'd taken up golf instead of fishing when I was younger, putting in the same amount of effort and time I think I would have committed hari kari by now as I dare say I'd have been teetering on the edge of being good enough to make a living out of it but due to the fine line in making it to the top, I'd have probably wasted a lot of time and money trying to make it happen when in reality I may not possess the natural tallent and consistency required to make it all the way to the top.

I dare say that this is a situation that many sub Premiership football players are in whereby they can make a living at it but are lacking that little bit of polish to make it into the big time.

Looking at some of the younger players today it is frightening at what they can do as they have all the information, technology and coaching they need but in reality many of them will take a break, get jobs and have families before coming back into it in their 40's wondering what on earth happend to that wonderful swing they had in their teens

I can't see myself giving up in the near future, already planning on what courses to try and visit in my summer holiday... 10 weeks to play as much golf as I want! :D
