One Month On and Progress Has Been Made

A month ago I posted This as I was really struggling with my game.

Well a couple of lessons and a lot of practice and things have come together very nicely indeed

I was on the practice tee for a spell this afternoon and was striking the ball better than I have for a very long time. Good clean contact and a good shot length and dispersion, boy am I a happy bunny tonight Another couple of sessions next week and hopefully...

The proof will of course only come when I take it to the course and play under a bit of pressure. Well, that pressure will come in the form of a very competitive match with three of my mates next weekend. If all goes well and I am able to keep striking the ball as well as this afternoon, then Team Teletubbies may well win the Winter Cup for the first time since..... well, for the first time actually !

The Nike Numpties (aka Team Nike), led by my good mate KHW, may finally meet their match this year.

Heres hoping

I've gone the other way. Went to the range on Tuesday and thought I'd made the breakthrough with this tempo change malarky as I was really hitting them well. Went to the course on Wednesday and first sign of a bunker or OB and tempo and rhythm went to pot and back to my quick, long and unsynchronised bad habits with inevitable results. With the forecast of gales and heavy rain for Sunday and a state visit from my sweet grey haired mother tomorrow not much chance of playing and trying again.

Well done for your hard work and perseverance although beware the confident (cocky) golfer for we all know the golfing gods have ways of making us look foolish. Hope you take the range form with you though and have securicor on standby to ship your winning home.

Bragging rights are transient but the name on the baord and the trophy on the side are permanent. Those having the laugh this week will inevitably come a cropper in the future and the bragging rights will switch. Mind you its good while it lasts!!!
