OK Many recent threads about peoples first sets and what they have in the shed.

Recently I have cleared my bag ready for my new MP-52s due Monday, I have already done my sig on here also!

My question is what to do with my old irons, the Power Bilt Grand slam oversized. If I throw in the v steel 4 wood and the dunlop 64 deg wedge I bought for fun I think the local par 3 would be very happy, another set to rent out to someone!

I also have 2 worthless drivers, a deep red II and another wilson cheapo thing.

I think the best thing to do is to just give them away.

The only one with value is the fli hi driving iron, I think I will keep that to switch out with the 5 wood when needed.

I doubt anything is worth selling. Is there any other place I could take them to other than the local par3/driving range?

After those are gone all I will have is the set in my bag, the driving iron and the set that belonged to my wife's great grandfather :D

Local charity shop. :D

Yeh, but what would they do with them? I cant imagine the clubs being part of a flood relief package.

Unless Jason Day's clubs have been washed away.

LOL hope that post is not offensive to anyone :D it looks a little on the fringe side of humour.

It depends on how good they are condition wise. If they have seen better days then I'm not sure a charity shop is the best idea and I'd give them to the par 3 as a hire set. If they are in decent condition though I'd donate them to a charity shop. I'm pretty sure they have networks that move stuff that maybe wouldn't sell in a shop to ensure they can flog it somewhere and make some cash

They may sell, there is also a bag to go with the lot, I am having a clear out. Nothing is sell-able on ebay due to it being so old. I firmly believe I would rather donate than sell.

I am now sure the par 3 would like them better, they already have 2 of my old clubs and another 12 clubs and a bag would be well received!

I will pop them round later in the week and also pop on some photos of me and my new irons :)

Thanks for the help guys, my mind is made up :)

I was in the cancer research shop dropping some stuff off when my grandad passed away, picked up a very nice ping g2 for buttons ;)

I have just read the mag too viscount17!

I am feeling well enough after my surgery to venture out in the car tomorrow. I will be taking the clubs to the local par 3/driving range. I think they will find a very good home there.

Well all the clubs have been donated. The guy said they will all be used as loaners for the range, they have a deal going with skymax to use some old clubs for hire sets.

He also said the irons will be a good backup hire set for the busy days as they only have 5 half sets.

I know I could have probably got about £30-40 total for all 11 clubs eventually (might take a while) if I sold them through a pro shop but it feels much nicer to have donated them instead even in these tough times.

Lets hope they get put to good use hooking some other young person on the game just like they did for me.
