After reading and reply to the slow play post i went out and played around, now earlyer i said that some times slow play was to be exepted. well after today i take it back picture the scene i walk up to the 1st some one is just finishing up on the green so i thik well there is noone coming out behind me so i will wait 5mins and then i wont be chasing up behind the guy...... three holes later im waiting on the tee for the guy in front (on his own) to finish up again now ther is a ladie playing behind me so i cant wait around anyway two holes later on a par 3 i watch the guy tee off noone in front of him so he is not being held up anyway he finishs the hole walks off to the next tee and i think ok hopfully he will pick up the pace as now the ladie is behind is getting bunched up so i play the par 3 four shots later im in the hole so i walk round to the next tee and who is still there doing some practice swings oh yes so he turns gives me a little smile then tees off. how does it take someone the same amout of time to set up at a tee as it takes me to play a whole par 3..

anyway i think great this guy sucks but i will deal so i let him finish this hole now the ladie behind me is waiting too so i tee off scuff my second shot third one up to the edge of the green so i am setting up for a littl chip when out the corner of my eye i see the ladie behind me about 70 yards back with her hybrid in hand setting up for a shot as i stand literally 5 yards off the green she is aiming at, i think surly not but sure enough ...... ping bounce ouch as her ball hits me in the shin to which i turn look at her and she just smiles and continues about her crazy ass business. rant over i hate people i want to own my own club
 
After what she'd done to you, You should have called her through and let the guy in front taste some of her medicine :D :D :D
Chances are she could have hit him while still on the tee box if he was that slow and she was that BOLD.... :eek:
 
I think its your fault for not saying anything.

People need to learn and if you let people carry on thinking this is ok then why would they think different.

You only have yourself to blame!!
 
why didn't you take the opportunity to tell the lad that he was holding up the course... ask if you can either join him or play through. As for the lady behind, i would have picked her ball up and thrown it right back at her!
 
So there were 3 solo players on the course waiting for each other (or not waiting in some cases)?

Doesn't sound a very friendly club you play at!

I mean, I can understand why you wouldn't have the asked the old bird to join you, but......
 
oh dear, hopefully going out tomorrow afternoon on my own for some practice, hope i dont run into any of the ladies at my club, well maybe one or two :D :D
 
Brilliant thread.....i'm cleaning tea off the pc screen!!!

I'm thinking you may be exagerating about the distance the woman behind was with the hybrid....there are no women at our club that could hit one that far!!!!....i mean 70yds!!!!

I'd have gone forward to the slow guy and told him that the woman behind was just complaining about how slow he was. I'd then drop back and tell the woman that the guy up front is moaning about people playing right up his ass then let them go at it!!!!....job done! :D
 
wow lots of stuff to answer so lets brake it down haha.

about asking him to join me well i was out working on a few kinks in my game trying some new things so i didn't want to be subjected to spectators. selfish i know but i like to play on my own every now and then so i can feel comfortable trying new things, also i like to get into the rythme so having to wait 3-4 minutes for the guy to set up his shots would not have been fun.

as for the lady behind i did let her play through and then i played holes 7 thru 11 again to get a bit of room

as for playing with the lady behind ( get your minds out of the gutter readers) i was unsure of her mental state and did not want to give her the oppertunity to think up a new golf based game called shin brakers.

as for the final comment you want to buy a good lcd screen cleaner for that tea or it will bugger up your screen :)
