In no particular order........

1) The original Medal of Honor on PC - still the best WWII first person shooter ever made!
2) the original Call of Duty on PC
3) Rome: Total War on PC
4) Tiger Woods 08 on PC
5) The new Gran Turismo on PS3, played the prologue and cant wait for the full fat version :D

an honorable mention also to Burnout Paradise on PS3

Good call on the X-Com series, wasted many an afternoon at Uni playing those on my PC, along with the original Doom played over the university network
 
Took my son's PSP on holiday last week with TW 08.
Absolutely hooked.

The missus was non best pleased. Every available moment I was playing. Progressed very well (NO 1 ranking)
Don't usually bother with games TBH but the PSP and TW were great to pass boring plane journeys and quiet times in the hotel room (Usually whilst the missus was getting ready to go out!)
