I have a pair of Woodworm shoes. Not the biggest of brands but they are very very comfy. Have been very good but started letting in water in late November and the leather has split a little.
In an attempt to get a little more out of them over the winter and into the spring I decided to try Nikwax Aqueous Wax. Got an out of date bottle in Neutral on ebay for about £2 so decided to take the plunge and did them during the week. It is a bit messy to use but a little newpaper sorts out that issue. Just apply all over and leave for a few minutes before buffing with a cloth and then brush to a shine if necessary. I made sure I got well into the cracks in the leather.
Was out this afternoon (after my now public failure to play a links course) at my rather damp parkland home. Stood in a few very messy puddles etc but my feet stayed bone dry. Even more impressive was the way the dirt seemed to just slide off afterwards. Nearly fully cleaned with just an air hose.
Would recommend this stuff to anyone, even considering putting it on my brand new footjoys prior to wearing them out just to help keep them.
