Nikon Coolpix S3100 (oppinions)

My daughter needs a digital compact for her art project.I'd rather buy her one than let her use mine,and wondered if theres any budding David Baileys amongst the forum users,who can give me there views on this camera,pros/cons .
Asda are selling this model for £49.97,which i believe is about 50% off the original RRP.
I've looked at some of the reviews online,and it seems to be quite highly rated in the budget compact dept.Should i buy the Nikon,or is there anything better for the money ? Not sure how much use the camera will get,so don't really want to spend a lot of money.

I have one, small compact and does the job. It's not a photographers camera but it's fine, a basic point and shoot and gives decent photos

I have a CoolPix 5600 I use for work and the resolution is really good and thats only 5MP and the one your looking at is 14MP. Grab it with both hands.
