Challenge Tour Pro
Got to test this this today, in both normal and tour versions, i have to say i was very unimpressed
The nike rep was in, he hadnt a baldy about the specs, except for which club was which So he offered us a bash at the drivers, the woods and new irons were there to but didn't appeal to me.
Looks - the paint job on the head, and the head shape at address are very cool, that being said the cavity on the sole is more like a gouge, its horrible looking, but you don't see it at address
Shaft Options - There was Regular, which was a as floppy as a Senior Flex and a Stiff which was no better than the regular, both tour and regular versions use the same shaft 'according to the rep' after knowing they would be no good he said come demo days once the club is officially released there will be custom options again he didn't know what they were
Performance - This is based on my opinion so please dont freak out. The shaft at the tip is pretty cleaver you can turn the shaft the same way you do all adjustable drivers to set your loft and another 'Gismo' on the tip which moves interdependently you can set your face angle, the cool part being your loft or face angle settings wont affect each other.
So i set it to neutral 9.5* which is what my R11s is set to, now the noise of the club head is quite loud, but im sure this could probably very depending on range balls used etc...
Ball flight was very high due to the very whippy shaft that we were using on the tour model, off center hits were quite forgiving on the regular, not so much on the tour, but for me personally i didn't see much is a difference in a positive way again the R11s that i currently use, all 3 us use tm drivers 1 rocket balls 1 r11s and 1 r9 supertri and after hitting at least 30 balls each we concluded that it wouldn't benifit us over what we currently use, plus we would have to go for some sort of custom option shaft that suited before we could try again.
Over all, good looking club at address, nice paint work if you like red, big nike swoosh on the back edge of the club, i recon it would be a mar-mite thing, shaft options very poor, but rep hasn't a clue what other there are going to be available, people who struggle to get the ball in the air will benefit from this in my personal opinion.
Until more shaft options become available ill be staying away
