following on from the "pundits that make you switch off" thread and the "matt every" interview thread i've got to say faldo is doing my head in,he is terrible at commentating.

i would of expected his analysis of players swings to be better but it's crap.....i could do a better job.i don't want to get into trouble for using bad language but he is a fu:sbox:in ar:sbox:le

i understand some people will like him and he was a great golfer, but it doesn't give you the right to spout shite like the way he does......he has about as much personality as an amoeba:angry:

Spot on.

I think he's great :whoo:

He certainly divides opinion!

I never actually liked that particular jumper (Muirfield '87). Grey and yellow just don't do it for me and the design is too "fiddly". Much preferred the "George" ones with the geometric golfer.

(Sorry to hijack thread with ramblings about knitwear)

Otherwise never been a great Faldo fan, but Norman was clearly very moved by what he said after his Masters collapse in 96. Also he does a lot of stuff for grass roots golf and lets face it he was a great inspiration for British golf in his heyday. I bet lots of kids took it up because of him.

I think he tries too hard to be funny and his RC captaincy was unimpressive to say the least.

Seeing him in tears after Seve's funeral was very moving.

Hmmm...complex guy.

i luv all the critism he gets- he an a-s , never forget the time he refused to play his 2nd shot at 18 on the old sayin he couldn`t see the green /pin ,and the countless times he refused to sign autographs for the kids - he`s a d-ck ..and deserves all the stick cause he`s gash as a comentator too ......luv u nick

yeah well he's a a-s with 6 majors, 3 green jackets, 3 opens, and the finest english golfer of the 90's - end of

As a young lad growing up and learning golf, he was English and winning so seemed the perfect guy to follow. Whilst I was a kid I missed all he negative stuff in the press, all I saw was him play on the odd BBC televised event or reading articles in the golf magazines of the day. As my opinion was formed very early that he was a top bloke/player I've always overlooked his failings but the Ryder Cup captaincy, for me was his biggest mess up as I was hoping he'd prove all his doubters wrong.

History proved he didn't but I do quite like his commentating style, However I can understand why people don't.
