Not sure I'm comfortable with Clegg, who has been briefed at highest level of UK security, to be working for (IMO) one of the most amoral corporations I can think of. Which coincidentally has an anonymously created one sided 'brexit' themed thread just started.

Also no coincidence IMO that the company would like to get 'close' to EU leaders and taxation policymakers but there again it might be his tremendous intellect that's attractive.

Way I see it high profile guy gets offered a high profile job for a lot of money, guy takes job.

Nothing more to it than that. His past employment made him privvy to a lot of high-level security no matter what job he took after doesn't change that fact regardless of his new employer.

Would I have done the same and take this role had I been in his position yes I would. Fact is he an ex politician no matter what he does now he will get over scrutinised by the public.

Previous MP gets well paid job.

If you don't want that to happen you have to pay them a live time pension that matches these kind of salaries, and I don't think we want that.

A high profile name, with connections with the EU. It might grease some wheels but it’s more about a name on a letter head.

I have no issue with Nick or Facebook.

Nick made a few tactical political errors, but his morals are at least as good as many other politicians and much better than some.
He was absolutely skewered for the tuition fees pledge, but in reality politicians fail to deliver manifesto commitments after every election.

Facebook - 'one of the most amoral corporations I can think of.' Maybe broaden your horizons a bit. Clearly you have not even scratched the surface of corporate America.
