Sad - age 96 after a short illness.

Oddly yesterday evening I watched Miss Marple 'Murder Ahoy' (1964) in which he had a smallish but rather comedic part that made me smile. One of the common threads of my TV and radio over the decades. Will be missed but what a contribution.

Sad, yes
But what an innings! To live to that ripe old age in what appears to have been good health, being fully with it and pretty well mobile. Good on him.
I also enjoyed his quotes . Much sense and humour.

always remember every Friday hearing " and now live from Norwich, its the quiz of the week, with your gorgeous host.....Nicholas Parsons" well maybe not the gorgeous bit but every bit as cheesey.

shame but he had a good innings

Sadly not many of the really old guys like NP left, Roy Hudd and Des O’Connor about the only 2 I can immediately think of.

As for NP himself, always came over as a gent, sad when they go, but a life well lived

What about Barry Cryer who seems to pop up every time one of these old time entertainers dies with a tribute.

Parsons did a good turn playing himself in the 80s Comic Strip's 'Mr Jolly Lives next door'. Mayall and Edmondson at their manic best with Peter Cook also starring.

Not sure if it'll have stood the test of time but I might have a dig around for it.
